New Year Starts with Beth Moore

2011 Siesta Scripture Memory Team: Verse 1

That's right Beth Moore is starting the memory verse 24 in 12 months again, so I knew this would be perfect to go along with the study I am preparing for the blog. If you haven't heard or partaken in Beth's memory verse challenge I would strongly suggest you stop over to her blog and read up on it.
I love to read the comments that others leave of their memory verse they chose. There is no memory verse that we all learn at the same time, it's ours from our hearts, souls, and minds...with God's leading we pick our own verse to memorize. This way it fits us and our season or circumstances we are going through in our lives.
I find this is a great way to open my own personal morning studies with prayer and reading out loud my verse I chosen.

Here is my Verse #1  (1-1-11)

But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord,.   Jeremiah 30:17a (NIV)

I am super excited about this memory verse challenge-here are just a few that Beth wrote in her blog and they touched my heart so I wanted to share them with you.

Beth's verse:
All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or the slightest hint of change.   James 1:17 (the NET Bible)

You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.  Psalms 65:11 (NIV)

"Forget about what's happened! Don't keep going over old history. Be alert! Be present! I'm about to do something brand new. It's bursting out. Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road in the desert and rivers in the badlands."      Isaiah 43:18-19 (Message)

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.      2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV)

Father I pray right now that I will commit to this awesome challenge of memorizing your Word into my heart, soul and mind. I pray that who ever is listening and reading these words will feel moved to take upon themselves a memory verse challenge to. Thank you Lord for this verse you gave to me today, I do need to restore my health and my families health and I do need healing of some wounds that are open and bleeding of hurt. Thank you also for Beth Moore and her big heart. Amen.

  1. Love this! I'm thinking that my first memory verse will be...

1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.

That would just so happen to be My One Little Word for 2011...LOVE.

I will be studying how to love more like Jesus and how to put it into action everyday in 2011.
